As reported by AllFacebook.com, Facebook will be making changes to the maximum widths of Tabs. Currently the Tab maximum width is 760 pixels. In early January of 2010, Facebook announced it will change the maximum to 520 pixels stating it would be a change to take effect in early 2010.
Facebook marketers and developers alike have been patiently waiting the change over and it now looks as if there is a target date. August 23rd is the set date for the change over.
The reason for the change given by Facebook is to "enable us to build the next generation of tools for growing your business with Facebook." Lets hope this is the sole motivation, growing YOUR business and not growing Facebooks business.
Either way, be prepared for the change over to 520 pixels.
