How to Set Up a Custom Facebook Fan Page URL

This post describes how to create a custom URL for your Facebook fan page. My fan page for Coffin Media Works has a custom URL of www.Facebook.com/CoffinMediaWorks.

A few things you should know before setting up the custom URL:
  • You can set up a custom URL for both a personal profile and a fan page.
  • Once you set your custom URL, it is set in stone AND CAN NOT BE CHANGED. So chose your URL wisely.
  • To set up the URL for your fan page, you will need at least 25 fans
Step 1: Log in to your Facebook account and in the address bar of your browser delete everything after the back slash. Your address bar will read www.facebook.com/

Step 2: After the back slash, type in username. Your address bar should read the same as the image below.

Step 3: Click on the Set a Username button to set up your custom URL for your personal page or fan page.

Step 4: Select a page from the list of pages you manage.

Step 5: Enter the desired vanity URL for your personal page or fan page. REMEMBER, ONCE YOU SELECT A USERNAME AND CONFIRM THE NAME, YOU CAN NOT CHANGE THE URL.

Step 6: Confirm you would like to PERMANENTLY set your personal page or fan page custom URL.
